First 2020 Biddeford ArtWalk to Go Virtual

Illustrated by www.kateburgau.com

Engine, the coordinator of the Biddeford ArtWalk, is moving its 2020 season kickoff on May 15 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm to a virtual event due to COVID-19 and the staged re-opening of business in Maine.

“We believe that most people won’t feel comfortable gathering even in small groups for a few months and our utmost priority is to protect both artists and visitors. Going virtual allows us to all remain safe but still engage with the arts community via virtual open studio tours. In fact, some participants who normally would be too far afield to have an open studio now can participate. We have someone in Biddeford Pool and Fortunes Rocks who will be giving us a peek inside their studios. And participants can watch from the comfort and safety of their homes,” says Tammy Ackerman, Executive Director of Engine.

Thirteen artists who either live in or have studios in Biddeford have volunteered to give the participating audience a 10-minute live tour of their personal studios.

The event will be recorded if you miss it. More info at our event posting on our homepage or email [email protected].
