Supporting Artists this Holiday Season

It’s the most wonderful (and busiest) time of year! There’s a lot going on downtown Biddeford, but we wanted to share these opportunities to support local artists and performers.

The Rebel Market is back at Sacred Profane from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 with an incredible lineup of local vendors.

Drift & Wander Collective is hosting its inaugural Drifters Winter Market from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a stellar group of makers, an assortment of refreshments, and a raffle for shoppers!

What’s the best way to spread Christmas cheer? Join the talented performers in Elf the Musical at City Theater! The musical runs through December 17 with shows at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. Sundays. Buy your tickets here!

Art at the Inauguration

On Tuesday, December 5, Biddeford City Clerk Robin Patterson swore in the city’s elected officials, including Mayor Martin Grohman. Big thanks to Alan Casavant for his twelve years of service as mayor and congratulations to Marty, as well as the members of the City Council and School Board. new Mayor, City Council, and School Committee.

In addition to musical performances by Heart of Biddeford Executive Director Delilah Poupore and the Biddeford Fifth Grade Chorus, Engine curated a special collection of art for the event. Five pieces of work created by local artists Nick Blunier, Ramune Bulmer, Carole Storro, Perceval Inkpen, and Tyler Variese were featured prominently during the festivities.

Engine is and has been a focal point of downtown Biddeford for many years for so many artists and creative spirits. It is a go-to for me: a retreat, a destination, a source for connection and ideas and community.

Engine is a wonderful place to work surrounded by wonderful people who have infused so much love and light into the downtown of Biddeford. I cannot imagine a bright future in the town without this wonderful organization.
