CAMP: Project Biddeford Runway: Upcycling (ages 10+)

PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN policy applies. Contact for more information.

A Project Runway™ inspired week of fashion challenges and creations! Projects will include sewing, design, garment construction and illustration! This week-long fashion and textile camp will focus on upcycling, the process of transforming found or discarded materials into new products of better quality. Learn to make bags out of t-shirts! Skirts out of pants! And how to re-imagine, resize, reshape almost any garment! This week-long fashion and textile camp will be led by textile artist and educator, Sasha Spencer. Activities will include the basics of hand and machine sewing, hand applique and embroidery as well as other embellishment techniques.  Learn what to look for when embarking on a new up-cycle project, and to identify elements of design and garment construction to enhance personal style and self expression. We will end the week with a community fashion show!
